Study in the U.S.
Hamline University Education to Employment Fellows Program - Deadline: March 1, 2012
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut is pleased to announce the Hamline University Education to Employment Fellows Program, for young leaders from the Middle East at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Fellows in the Education to Employment Program will participate in a series of interactive experiences and internships to learn how schools and organizations can best develop alternative curricula and training programs to prepare students for the competitive market. The program will also demonstrate how partnerships between communities and businesses can be developed to create jobs and match them with skilled workers, and how local government leaders can create a better business climate for new work and business opportunities. This program is designed for graduates in the following fields: agriculture and agro-business, technology, health services, banking, tourism, media/communication, or small business.
During the program, the participant is expected to develop a project for his/her community that would either generate employment or will teach others how to seek or create employment opportunities. Upon returning to Lebanon, the participant will then implement their project with guidance from business mentors in the United States. The most outstanding projects may receive funding from the U.S. Department of State for further implementation.
The program is expected to take place between May 14 and June 16, 2012.
