Information For Official Travel and U.S. Government Employees

Official Visits:  All official visitors to Lebanon must receive country clearance from post prior to travel.  "Official visitors" include long-term and short-term TDY personnel, and all delegations who visit, even for a single day.

Early visit coordination is essential.  To submit your country clearance request, visit http://ecc.state.gov.

Unofficial (Personal) Travel: All U.S. Government employees (including U.S. military personnel) and their family members are required to obtain permission from the Undersecretary for Management for personal travel to Lebanon.  "Family member" includes the following relatives: a spouse and parents thereof; children, including adopted children, stepchildren, and spouses thereof; parents; and brothers and sisters and spouses thereof.
A Travel Request Form can be provided by the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. Please direct your request for a form to BeirutTravel@state.gov. Allow 4-6 weeks for processing.  For security reasons, personal travel cannot be approved more than 6 weeks in advance.  Submission of an electronic ECC request is no longer required for personal travel.
