Don’t Pick up the Phone! U.S. Embassy Website Provides All Necessary Information

May 29, 2007

Visitors wishing to travel to the United States can find all the information they need about applying for a visa on the U.S. Embassy website.  Effective May 30, 2007, the U.S. Embassy will no longer accept telephone inquiries from the general public for nonimmigrant and immigrant visa information.  Information about how to apply for a visa and visa processing is available at http://lebanon.usembassy.gov.  Additional information is available at http://www.travel.state.gov.

Specific inquiries about nonimmigrant visas may be directed to BeirutNIV@state.gov.  For immigrant visas, inquiries may be directed to BeirutIV@state.gov.  Responses will be sent within three working days, although most emails receive a same-day reply.  Applicants are encouraged to provide a telephone number with their email so that we may contact them if a personal response is appropriate.  Fax inquiries with a return email address or telephone number are also accepted at (04)544 037 for nonimmigrant visas or (04)543 498 for immigrant visas.
