Media Coverage of International Meeting

November 16, 2007

As announced, President of the United States George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice look forward to an international meeting later this fall focused on supporting the efforts of Prime Minister Olmert and President Abbas to realize President Bush’s vision of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side-by-side in peace and security.

Although the dates and times of the meeting will be announced subsequently, the State Department Bureau of Public Affairs would like to start the accreditation process now to accommodate the large numbers of press expected to attend.  Further information on the deadline for credential applications, collection of media credentials and date, location, and other details on the meeting will be provided after arrangements are confirmed.

Accreditation is a three step process.

Step One: Media Representatives must complete the request for credential form which can be found online.  To apply for credentials media representatives must:

  • fill out the application form on-line, (passport numbers may be used if SSN or EIDs are not available)
  • send in the form by clicking the “submit” button on the adobe form

NOTE:  To submit the form via email, Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 or higher is required.  It is available for download at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readerstepw.html

Step Two:  Media representatives must send a photo to Annapolis_cred@state.gov.  The photo must be jpeg format, 1 3/8" x 1 3/8", 300 x 300 dpi with a white background.  To make sure a photo is processed with your credential application form media representatives must:

  • include First Name, Last Name and last four numbers of SSN/ID number (or passport number) in the email
  • attach a jpeg photo (see specifications above) to the e-mail
  • send the email to Annapolis_cred@state.gov

NOTE:  If an email with a JPG format ID-size photograph is not sent to Annapolis_cred@state.gov the application will not be processed.

NOTE:  A confirmation email will be sent to you after you submit your form online and another confirmation email will be sent to you after you send your photo to Annapolis_cred@state.gov.

Step Three: Event credentials will be issued by Public Affairs staff prior to the meeting at the Naval Academy Stadium in Annapolis Maryland.  The dates and times of issuance will be provided subsequently.  To collect the event credential, media representatives must:

  • appear in person at the Naval Academy stadium
  • present a valid press identification card, and
  • present a valid passport or U.S. driver’s license.
