The U.S. Embassy Announces the New Website www.LebaneseOliveOil.com

December 17, 2007

Today, United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Lebanon Mission Director Raouf Youssef and the chief of the Syndicate of Lebanese Food Industries (SLFI), George Nasrawi, launched a new olive oil website – www.LebaneseOliveOil.com.   The website development, funded by a XXX grant from USAID, was a collaborative effort between SRI International and the Social and Cultural Development Association (INMA).  The website is part of a $2.2 million USAID tourism project which SRI is implementing.

This new website will facilitate international marketing of high-quality Lebanese olive oil and is maintained by SLFI.  The website features information for wholesale and retail outlets in the United States, individual consumers, technical and training resources, reports and market assessments, labeling guidelines, news reviews, and traditional Lebanese recipes.

USAID has worked in Lebanon since 1951, funding development projects to benefit Lebanese citizens. With funds from the American people, USAID creates jobs, invests in youth and protects the environment in Lebanon.  USAID’s work reflects the strong friendship between the Lebanese and American people.
