USAID Gives $33,620 to the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) for Computer Equipment

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Raouf Youssef presented a check in the amount of $33,620 to the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) on June 14, 2007.Established in 1998, LOST is a local non-governmental organization that offers computer training, Internet access, language courses, scholarship support for education and research services to youth in the area. The organization operates in two centers, one in Baalback and one in El Ain, benefiting more than 1,800 individuals per year, half of whom are women. The center in Baalback has a public library that is unique to the area. LOST received $33,620 from the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to equip the organization’s two centers in Baalback and El Ain with computers, classroom furniture and other related equipment with the purpose of expanding its services to the community. This assistance will double the student enrollment rate at the center, as well as enable the center to conduct educational workshops and conferences.
