Regional Security Office (RSO)
Every U.S. diplomatic mission operates under a security program designed and maintained by the Regional Security Office (RSO), which falls under the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. It is the primary security and law enforcement resource for the Department of State and is a leader in international investigations, threat analysis, and the protection of people, property, and information. The RSO gives advice and assistance to resident U.S. citizens, provides local in-country security briefings and threat assessments to business executives, and is responsible for providing security services to all U.S. Missions, personnel and facilities in Lebanon. It is dedicated to providing a secure working environment for the conduct of Foreign Affairs.
