American corners

There are four American Corners in Lebanon under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy: Rashaya Municipality Building, National Library of Baakleen, Kamel Youssef Jaber Cultural Center in Nabatiyeh, and Municipal Public Library of Zahle.

An American Corner is a resource center to learn more about the United States and American culture and is open free of charge to all residents of Lebanon, including students, teachers, professionals and community members.

The fundamental function of the American Corner is to make information about the U.S. available to foreign publics. An American Corner consists of a collection of books in English, including reference titles, works of fiction, business and government publications. It also provides access to information through supervised Internet access, audio and video products, CDs, and CD-ROMS.
