Lucien Bourjeily
Director
Kennedy Center Cultural Visitor Program alumnus 2009

During my participation in the cultural visitors program for directors I gained a lot of new insights into the performing arts industry thru the eyes of fellow participants and American theater experts. In addition, the focused exposure to the creation processes and methodologies used by American directors led me into finding and using new methods in my own work. I was very inspired by what I saw and experienced during the program. I think that the most prevalent proof of the amount of stimulation the program had on me is that two months later (21 August 2009) I won UK’s IYPAE (International Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur) award.
