Educational Seminar on “Parenting through The Teen Years” in Akkar
April 4, 2009
On April 4th, Mr. Pierre Attalah, an International Visitor Leadership Program alumnus and the director of the International School of Akkar (ISA), organized a speaking event on "Parenting through The Teen Years" in Jebrayel village - Akkar.
Ms. Denise Herbol, the director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Lebanon, was part of the panel. She shared her experiences in raising her three teenagers with more than forty mothers from Akkar. Ms. Herbol confirmed that American and Lebanese mothers often face the same problems when raising a teenager. She suggested several ways and approaches to engage the kids and overcome the clashes with teenagers.
The interactive seminar was a great opportunity to promote American culture and to discuss family issues.
