Ambassador Sison Hosts Reception for Alumni of U.S. Exchange Programs

On December 17, 2009 U.S. Ambassador Michele J. Sison hosted over 250 Lebanese alumni of U.S. Government-funded exchange programs at a reception at her residence. For more than 20 years, this annual event has brought together the growing number of Lebanese who have traveled to the United States as Fulbright Scholars, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows, International Visitor Leadership Program grantees, and other programs.

Speaking to the alumni, Ambassador Sison stressed the importance of cultural and educational exchanges to the overall relationship between Lebanon and the United States:  "Our investment in sponsoring cultural, educational and professional exchanges between the United States and Lebanon is an investment in the human capital of this country"... (more)
