Press Releases 2010

Routine Update to U.S. Travel Warning for Lebanon to Be Announced

October 5, 2010

The current Travel Warning for Lebanon was issued on March 29, 2010 and can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_3072.html.  An updated Travel Warning for Lebanon is being drafted and is expected to be released in the coming days, in line with the requirement to update such warnings every six months.

The U.S. Department of State issues Travel Warnings when long-term, protracted conditions that make a country dangerous or unstable lead the State Department to recommend that Americans avoid or consider the risk of travel to that country.  U.S. regulation requires that Travel Warnings be reviewed continually and updated at least every six months to ensure that the most current safety and security information is shared with the American public.
