U.S. Embassy to Resume Normal Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visa Operations

September 14, 2006

The U.S. Embassy offers the following important information about changes to its immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services.

Beginning Monday, September 18, the Consular Section will resume normal immigrant and nonimmigrant visa processing. Lebanese citizens who paid the $100 application fee and received an appointment for a nonimmigrant visa interview prior to August 1 have been re-scheduled on a priority basis

Travelers with emergent situations who require an expedited appointment may contact us at BeirutNIV@state.gov.

All nonimmigrant visa applicants must now submit a properly completed Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). After October 15, applications made without an EVAF will not be accepted. The EVAF can be found at http://evisaforms.state.gov/, and is available in English, French and other languages
