U.S. Embassy Thanks the Government of Lebanon

The Embassy of the United States extends thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of the Interior and Internal Security Forces of Lebanon for their assistance in resolving the case of the abduction and safe recovery of an American child, June 10, 2005. The professionalism and investigative expertise of Lebanese officials resulted in the safe return of the three and half year old boy to his family in less than 24 hours after his abduction. Members of the Internal Security Force extended sincere professional courtesy to U.S. Embassy staff, as well as showed sensitivity and concern to the family during this crisis. That the situation was resolved so quickly and safely is a credit to the skill and ability of the Lebanese Interior Security Forces.
Similarly, the U.S. Embassy appreciates the attention and priority Prime Minister Mikati accorded to this unfortunate event. U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman called on Prime Minister Mikati today to thank him and his government for their assistance.
