Secretary of State Rice’s Visit to Lebanon a Show of Support

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made a four-hour visit to Lebanon, February 23, 2006, to express support for the Lebanese people and the Lebanese Government. At the Grand Serail, Secretary Rice met with Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, members of his reform team and Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh.  She traveled to Bkerke to pay a call on the Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir.  She also had meetings with Member of Parliaments Walid Jumblatt and Sa’ad Hariri and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri.
