U.S. Ambassador Meets with Minister Nicolas Nahhas

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly met with Minister of Economy and Trade Nicolas Nahhas today. 

The Ambassador and Minister Nahhas discussed recent political developments in Lebanon, the government’s plans for political and economic reform, and the need for continued cooperation to protect Lebanon’s financial system.   As part of the Lebanese Government’s economic reform plans, Minister Nahhas also discussed Lebanon’s interest in future participation in the “Deauville Partnership with Arab Countries in Transition.”

Ambassador Connelly renewed the commitment of the United States to a stable, sovereign and independent Lebanon.
