Proposals for anti-trafficking in persons (TIP) projects
December 28, 2007
The U.S. Embassy is currently soliciting proposals for anti-trafficking in persons (TIP) projects for fiscal year 2008. The goal of anti-trafficking programs is to strengthen the rule of law and the capacity of the criminal justice system to combat trafficking in persons, increase the availability and implementation of comprehensive victim assistance, rehabilitation and reintegration programs, enhance coordination between NGOs and/or government agencies, and assist such organizations to develop, implement, or expand comprehensive services for adult and child victims of sex trafficking or forced labor. Training programs should not be one-time, stand alone courses. Measures of training effectiveness should be related to the impact of the activity such as cases investigated or prosecuted. G/TIP discourages proposals that are primarily for research purposes. Should you have a project proposal, please send an email to petersoncj@state.gov or akmakjiag@state.gov to receive further information on application guidelines and instructions. The final deadline for proposals is Friday, January 25, 2008.
