General Information
ِAs of April 3, 2008, American citizens requiring routine services such as passport renewals, additional passport pages, and notarials may visit the American Citizen Services Section on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Applicants seeking Consular Reports of Birth Abroad and passports for newborn children must schedule an appointment. Appointments can be made by email at BeirutACS@state.gov or via phone at 04-543600 (please ask for American Citizen Services). The section receives public phone calls Monday thru Friday between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
Federal benefit services including social security, veterans and civil service retirement are provided by appointment only. The Section is open for Social Security, Veterans, Civil Service and Tax Refunds check pick up Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.
American Citizens visiting and residing in Lebanon are urged to read the Travel Warning and Consular Information Sheet for Lebanon, and to register at the American Embassy at their earliest convenience." American citizens planning travel to Syria through the Lebanese/ Syrian land borders require a valid entry visa.
