Study of the United States Institutes – Deadline January 26, 2009        

The U.S. Embassy announces this year’s competition for the Study of the United States Institutes for Scholars.  The program is open to university professors in Lebanon.  The American Studies Institutes are six-week programs taking place in the U.S. between June and August 2009.  The Institutes focus on U.S. history, politics, government, law, literature, language, economics, society, culture, international relations or foreign policy, and are planned and conducted by a U.S.-based host institution. 

This program seeks to promote a better understanding of the United States among scholars all over the world whose professional responsibilities center on the study of American society, culture and institutions.  

Application deadline is January 26, 2009.
