Public Diplomacy

The U.S. Embassy Beirut’s Public Diplomacy section sponsors a variety of scholarships and cultural exchange programs for students of all ages, academics, artists, and others wishing to study or build connections in the United States. While the Fulbright Scholar programs and the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program are perhaps the best known programs sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, there are a variety of programs that address specific learning objects across a number of fields. MEPI - The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), located within the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, works to create partnerships with citizens to foster the development of pluralistic, participatory, and prosperous societies. In this vein, MEPI provides educational exchange opportunities for a wide range of people to visit the United States for training and networking.
